This course is designed for operators and maintenance personnel looking to gain expertise in the safe and efficient operation of the A75 Conveying Pumps. Participants will receive hands-on training, covering essential skills for operating and maintaining this specialised concrete pumping equipment.
Qualifications and Experience Required for this Training Course
- Previous Conveying Pump Experience: Participants should have prior experience working with or around concrete pumps.
- Construction Industry Background: A background in the construction industry, such as experience as a site worker, or operator, is highly recommended.
- Relevant Health and Safety Knowledge: Basic understanding of construction site safety practices is essential, though specific health and safety training may be required for certain participants.
- Physical Fitness: As the course involves hands-on operation of heavy machinery & materials, participants should be in good physical health to manage the practical elements of the training.
- A Valid Health & Safety Touch screen test (within the previous 2-year period).
Important: This trailer-mounted concrete pump training course is intended for those with prior on-site construction experience. It is not suitable for beginners or those without exposure to concrete pumping environments.
What You’ll Learn
Participants will gain practical knowledge in:
- Types of conveyor pump equipment (A75 Worm/piston pump without mixer – up to 50mm outlet, endorsement B) (A75 Worm/piston with mixer – up to 50mm outlet, endorsement C)
- Safe site setup, traffic flow, and equipment positioning
- Hazard identification and risk mitigation (e.g. blockage avoidance)
- Operational responsibilities and communication signals
- Preventative maintenance and emergency shutdown procedures
- Environmental safety and post-operation clean-up
Course Structure, Duration and Location
This training course is delivered over 2 Days and is offered in Astley, Manchester
- Day 1: Classroom instruction, Equipment familiarisation, site safety basics, hands-on demonstration and involvement, practical hazard scenarios
- Day 3: CPCS/NOCN Theory test, and CPCS/NOCN Practical test (this will be carried out in the test centre, unless other arrangements are agreed)

Outcomes & Certification
By the end of this A75 course, participants will be able to:
- Progress to the CPCS theory & practical test (relevant to the category)
- Confidently support and interact with conveyor pump operations on-site
- Identify safety hazards and enforce safety zones with control measures
- Use clear communication with operators and site team
- Follow compliance protocols and equipment guidelines
Certification: Participants will receive a CPCS/NOCN accreditation (trained red CPCS card for relevant category), which may be used to meet site training requirements or employer safety standards.
