Who Should Attend
This course is tailored for:
- Construction workers who have worked around concrete pump equipment
- Site workers, foremen, and supervisors familiar with concrete operations
- Individuals who have observed or assisted in concrete pumping but have not received formal training
Important: This course is intended for those with prior on-site construction experience. It is not suitable for beginners or those without exposure to concrete pumping environments.
What You’ll Learn
Participants will gain practical knowledge in:
- Types of concrete pump equipment (A44 trailer-mounted units)
- Safe site setup, traffic flow, and equipment positioning
- Hazard identification and risk mitigation (e.g. blockage avoidance)
- Operational responsibilities and communication signals
- Preventative maintenance and emergency shutdown procedures
- Environmental safety and post-operation clean-up
Course Duration
3 Days
- Day 1: Classroom instruction + site safety basics
- Day 2: Equipment familiarisation + practical hazard scenarios
- Day 3: Hands-on demonstrations + assessment/theory test
Outcomes & Certification
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Progress to the CPCS onsite practical test (relevant to the category)
- Confidently support and interact with concrete pump operations on-site
- Identify safety hazards and enforce safety zones with control measures
- Use clear communication with operators and site team
- Follow compliance protocols and equipment guidelines
Certification: Participants will receive a CPCS/NOCN accreditation (trained CPCS card for relevant category), which may be used to meet site training requirements or employer safety standards.
