Camfaud operates the largest concrete pump training school in the country. The school is used to train both Camfaud employees and external personnel.
We have a number of trainers and Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) testers who teach candidates the knowledge and skills required to be safe, competent concrete pump operators and test them to CPCS standards.
We train and test operators for all three CPCS categories: A06 Concrete Pump – Truck Mounted Boom, A44 Concrete Pump Trailer Mounted and A72 Static Concrete Placing Boom. Please note that an LGV licence must be held to obtain the A06 truck mounted boom pump card.
Training is carried out in our training schools in St Helens and Epping and also at the candidates’ sites.

While London whiles away the weekends, Camfaud is at work repairing the capital’s infrastructure.
Our most recent job involved pumping rapid setting concrete underground to form a tunnel trackbed. Our “troglodyte team” manned the pumps (and the pipelines!) round the clock to enable the concrete to be placed as soon as the track was aligned and the slab ready to be poured.
It is usual, when pumping long pipelines, to use 125mm pipeline. However, for this contract, 100mm pipeline was preferred in order to increase the velocity of the material through the line and thus minimise the chance of the rapid setting mix going off in the pipes.
